Home Minister Amit Shah launched a blistering attack against Congress, National Conference and PDP, by saying that the ongoing polls will end their family politics.
Intensifying BJP’s campaign for the second of the three-phased Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday launched a blistering attack against Congress, National Conference and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) by saying that the ongoing polls will end the rule of three families.
Addressing a public rally in J-K’s Mendhar, Shah said, “This election in Jammu and Kashmir is going to end the rule of three families: the Abdullah family, the Mufti family, and the Nehru-Gandhi family. This is necessary because these three families have hindered democracy here.”

Had the Narendra Modi-led government not come to power, there would have never been any Panchayat or Block-level elections in Jammu and Kashmir, Shah added in a sharp attack on Congress, NC and PDP.
Shah accused the three parties of spreading terrorism and arming youths in Jammu and Kashmir. “Abdullah, Mufti and Nehru-Gandhi family have spread terrorism in J-K from the 90s till now.” He further credited the Narendra Modi-led BJP government for ending terrorism in the valley and said, “The youth have been given laptops instead of stones.”
The Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir will be held across three phases, starting from September 18, September 25 and October 1. The counting of votes will take place on October 8, the Election Commission said.
