In honor of Women’s Day, IndiGo, India’s leading airline, has unveiled striking murals adorning the walls of Gurugram’s Guru Dronacharya Metro Station. Crafted by renowned artist Anpu Varkey, these murals capture the essence of ‘Girl Power,’ portraying the women of IndiGo as they conquer the skies with determination and grace. The station, which connects to IndiGo’s offices in Gurugram, sees a bustling footfall of both IndiGo employees and commuters daily.

Pieter Elbers, CEO, IndiGo, expressed the airline’s appreciation for the invaluable contribution of women within the organization. He emphasized IndiGo’s commitment to fostering diversity and providing equal opportunities for all employees. With over 44% women in its workforce, IndiGo stands as a beacon of gender inclusivity, boasting one of the highest percentages of women pilots globally and an all-female cabin crew.

The murals serve as a testament to the capabilities of women, symbolising their ability to excel in every sphere. Anpu Varkey, the artist behind the vibrant artwork, lauded IndiGo’s ethos of celebrating women and their achievements. For her, the murals represent not just art, but also the aspirations of countless Indian women striving for equal opportunities and recognition.

From ensuring safety in aircraft operations to delivering top-notch customer service, the women of IndiGo play pivotal roles across various domains. Through initiatives like Take off 2.0, a back-to-work program launched in March 2023, IndiGo is committed to empowering women and bridging gender disparities in the workplace.

To experience the captivating murals firsthand, commuters can visit the Guru Dronacharya Metro Station on the Yellow Line of the Delhi Metro, located in Gurugram. As IndiGo continues to champion women’s empowerment, Girl Power remains a celebration of female resilience, leadership, and excellence, resonating with women everywhere, every day.
