India Bike Week 2024: KTM 390 Adventure, 390 Enduro R details, stunt show, off-road racing

We tell you if IBW’s 11th edition still strikes a chord with riders from around the country.

Each year riders from across the nation band together and ride to the sun-soaked coastal state of Goa for IBW. The journey to IBW is often as exciting as the event itself. Bikers from across the country take to the roads, cruising along highways on their beloved machines. As I rode into Goa, the air buzzed with anticipation. The main entrance to the venue is a rather dusty one and you’re sure to be covered in dust even before you make it all the way inside. Once you’re in, there’s a whole host of motorcycles on display both by manufacturers and custom designs by various individuals.

This year didn’t see too many companies showcase their products with KTM and their lineup being the highlight of this year’s event. KTM also showcased the highly anticipated 390 Adventure S and the 390 Enduro R. Both these new models as well as KTM’s big bike and dirt bike lineups had people swarming the KTM stands. Unfortunately, there were no other launches or any significant announcements apart from this.

As always the parking lot was usually home to some rather interesting creative choices and there is no shortage of bizarre and sometimes even tastefully done machines. Sadly, it also remains the place where one goes to lose their sense of hearing as some riders let their abnormally loud pipes do the talking.

This constant revving of the engine usually leads to some inevitable breakdowns and the occasional fire that gets the crowd going. While we all love the sound of a good engine, in this case, love can be both deafening and distasteful.

Once I was done admiring the bikes on display, I moved over to one of the two stages where popular and underground artists do their best to drown out the constant rev bombing. Two days of fun memories, great Goan food and unlimited music is a wonderful way to drown out the Monday blues. Coming to IBW is an experience I’d recommend to all my fellow riders and even if the music isn’t your jam, I’m sure the breathtaking scenery would hit the spot. Just remember to bring earplugs.
