Cody Rhodes made a special appearance on a recent episode of BBC’s Bedtime Story from CBeebies.
When Cody Rhodes starts a story, he makes sure to finish it. The WWE Undisputed Champion has proven it multiple times with his dominant performance in the squared circle. But this time, the context is something else. Scooping out time from his WWE assignments, the American Nightmare made a special appearance on a recent episode of BBC’s Bedtime Story from CBeebies. “Cody Rhodes reads a Bedtime Story about a little whale with a big heart,” read the title of the show.
On the episode shared on YouTube, Rhodes was seen reading the book, Gigantic– written and illustrated by the award-winning and best-selling author, Rod Biddulph. The 32-page juvenile fiction was published by HarperCollins in September 2023.
“I’m going to read you a very special bedtime story all about a tiny whale who, on this particular day, needs to be the strongest and bravest he has ever been. Get ready for a gigantic underwater adventure as I read Gigantic by Rod Biddulph. And once I have started reading, you better believe I’m going to finish the story,” Rhodes says in his introductory speech.
Cody Rhodes is the first professional wrestler to feature on the BBC show. Many celebrities like Chris Hemsworth, Harry Styles, Steve Carell, Tom Hardy, Ed Sheeran, Elton John, Chris Evans, Catherine Princess of Wales and David Hasslehold have previously appeared on the program to reach bedtime stories.
Meanwhile, Rhodes is currently gearing up to defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens. The two superstars are set to go head-to-head in a Ladder match at the 2025 Royal Rumble. The Premier Live Events is slated to take place at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indiana on February 1. Rhodes’title and a Winged Eagle version of the silverware will be on display during the championship match.
Kevin Owens has already tried to dethrone Cody Rhodes twice. The duo first met at Bash inBerlinwhere Rhodes fought with an injured knee. The champ hit Owens with three back-to-back Cross Rhodes to retain his title. They once again clashed at Saturday Night’s Main Event in December last year. Rhodes won the match via pinfall after he smashed Owens on a steel chair.
