Genesis Neolun SUV concept could spawn into a three-row ultra luxurious SUV based on the current Genesis GV90

Hyundai’s Genesis luxury brand has released details of the Genesis Neolun SUV concept that will see a public debut at the New York Auto Show this year.  This concept will most likely spawn a future three-row luxury SUV and even a potential Mercedes-Maybach GLS rival.

The Genesis Neolun SUV, according to the brand, is inspired by “Korea’s iconic moon-shaped porcelain jars,” according to Genesis Chief Creative Officer Luc Donckerwolke. The Neolun SUV concept gets a boxy yet stylish look that includes Genesis’s signature “two lines” lighting motif front and rear.

On the outside, the SUV concept gets Midnight Black and Majestic Blue two-tone paint job, and on the inside it has Royal Indigo leather with white piping which makes it look very premium. On the inside, it gets captain’s seats and the latest in creature comforts including an all-heated floor.

As part of the package, the SUV gets a special sound system with an advanced “sound architecture” with concert hall-like audio experience.  It also gets the crystal sphere that rotates when the audio system is running, similar to the GV60 SUV.

As far as dimensions go, this concept SUV is a full-size vehicle that can easily accommodate three row seating.  The concept however has only two rows of seats.  At launch, Genesis may offer the SUV with two options like the one with two luxurious rows, or a traditional version with three rows of seats. Expect more details on the final design, powertrain and launch timeline on this SUV in the near future.

In India, the Hyundai-owned Genesis brand does not sell its models as of now. There are a handful of Genesis cars and SUVs in India at the moment which have been imported privately.
