Hyundai has officially released the first set of pictures of the Exter micro SUV‘s interior ahead of its launch on July 10. While images of the Exter’s interior were partially leaked online, these fresh set of images give us a detailed look at the micro-SUV’s full interior.
- Exter shares dashboard design with Grand i10 Nios, Aura
- Gets an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system
- Will rival the likes of the Citroen C3 and Tata Punch
Hyundai Exter interior details
The Exter’s steering wheel and dashboard design are quite similar to the Grand i10 Nios and Aura, however, there are quite a few unique elements. Firstly, the interior gets an all-black colour scheme instead of the grey/black or bronze/black interior seen on the Nios and Aura, respectively. The Exter also gets a full-digital instrument cluster with a 4.2inch MID that’s similar to more expensive Hyundais like the i20 and the Verna.
Higher variants will get an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment similar to its siblings. The patterned-effect on the dashboard and around the gear lever has also been carried over. It gets circular AC vents on either end and semi-leatherette seat upholstery that are olive green in colour in the current picture. The Exter gets three-point seat belts for all three rear passengers and an AC vent for the second row, but it does miss out on a rear centre armrest.
Hyundai has also announced that the Exter will get connected car tech, voice-activated commands in multiple languages and over-the-air (OTA) updates for the infotainment system and maps. Higher variants will also get automatic climate control, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, in-built navigation and a sunroof, among other features.
Hyundai Exter powertrains
The Exter will get Hyundai’s tried and tested 83hp, 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine – that’s available on the Venue, Nios and Aura – and a factory fitted CNG kit. The petrol engine can be had with either a 5-speed manual or an AMT automatic transmission, while the CNG only gets a manual.
Hyundai Exter bookings and rivals
Deliveries for the Exter are likely to commence by mid-July, and bookings are currently underway for Rs 11,000. Upon launch, the Exter will rival the Tata Punch, Citroen C3 and the Maruti Ignis.
