The Hyundai Exter CNG range gets a new EX variant, priced at Rs 7.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Hyundai offers the SUV with its Hy-CNG dual-cylinder tech, which adds two CNG cylinders instead of one large unit to open up more space in the boot. The Exter is also offered with a traditional single-cylinder CNG setup, but this option hasn’t been introduced in the EX trim yet.

Factory-fitted dual-cylinder CNG setup.
The Hyundai Exter CNG uses the same 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine as the standard car and is mated to a five-speed manual transmission. In CNG mode, however, the power and torque figures of 69hp and 95.2Nm note a drop of 14hp and 18.8Nm, respectively. Hyundai claims a 27.1km/kg mileage with the Exter CNG and returns up to 19.4kmpl using petrol.

Digital driver’s display, six airbags
The entry-level Hyundai SUV comes with signature H-shaped LED tail-lights, keyless entry, a 4.2-inch MID, height adjustment function for the driver’s seat, front power windows, hill start assist, rear parking sensors, ABD with EBD and six airbags.
