Anmol Kumar Singh aspires to become a cardiologist.
After failing in his first attempt, Anmol Kumar Singh re-applied for NEET UG 2024 and scored 675 marks.
Hailing from Chhapra district in Bihar, Anmol Kumar Singh could not imagine cracking the NEET UG without moving to another state. Living in the city presented him with several challenges in his educational journey.
“The main problem was the lack of quality educational resources, which made it difficult to prepare effectively for exams like NEET,” Anmol Kumar said, adding that his ailing father and financial constraints added to his problems.
After failing in his first attempt, Anmol re-applied for NEET UG 2024 and scored 675 marks. As the eldest son, he was under pressure to do his best and improve his family’s lot. “I often heard my father say, ‘Study hard, Anmol, do your best in whatever you do.’ He always told me that education was the only way to a better life and his words instilled in me a strong desire to study MBBS.”
When asked which medical colleges he preferred, he named institutions in states like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Haryana rather than AIIMS-Delhi.
“My motivation stems from a deep-rooted desire to make a difference for my community and improve healthcare in Chhapra. Growing up in a small town with limited medical facilities, I witnessed how difficult it was for people to get quality healthcare. This experience instilled in me a passion to become a doctor and contribute to the medical field,” said the 18-year-old.
On his journey to clear the NEET exam in the second attempt, his uncle supported him financially. “My father is a farmer and faced severe financial challenges, which made it difficult for them to bear the cost of tuition. My uncle understood the importance of preparing well for the NEET exam and stepped in to provide the necessary financial support and get him admission to Infinity Learn,” said the boy, who scored 96 per cent in Class 12.
Talking about his routine for the NEET exam, he said that he woke up at 6 am daily and after tuition, devoted several hours every day to self-study, reviewing concepts, solving questions and taking practice tests.
“I maintained a structured schedule and allocated specific time slots to different subjects to ensure balanced preparation. In the evenings, I often revised difficult topics and focused on areas where I needed to improve,” said the boy, who aspires to become a cardiologist.
He claims that this disciplined routine coupled with regular breaks helped him stay focused and motivated throughout his NEET UG preparation period.
