Honda Cars India has increased the prices of its popular City sedan and the automatic variants of the Elevate SUV by Rs 20,000. Now, the Honda City’s starting price is Rs 12.28 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. Dealers tell us that the company took the decision due to rising input costs.

Honda City prices in January 2025
The price hike for the Honda City is across the board. So, the top-spec City pure petrol ZX CVT automatic now costs Rs 16.55 lakh, and the City strong hybrid petrol sells for Rs 20.75 lakh.

The City pure petrol comes with the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine, and the City strong hybrid petrol gets a unique Atkinson Cycle 1.5-litre, four-cylinder engine mated to an electric motor, giving a combined power output of 126hp.
While the hybrid City does not have a direct rival in our market, the pure petrol sedan takes on the likes of the Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus and Skoda Slavia.
Honda Elevate prices in January 2025
As for the Elevate, Honda has only increased the prices of variants with the automatic gearbox, so the Elevate SV, V, VX and ZX with manual transmission cost the same as before. The starting price has risen to Rs 13.91 lakh for the Elevate V CVT, Rs 15.30 lakh for the Elevate VX CVT and Rs 16.63 lakh for the top-spec Elevate ZX CVT.

The Elevate comes with the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine as the City but does not have the option of a strong hybrid powertrain. It competes with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq. Honda will soon introduce the Elevate Black edition with an all-black-themed interior and exterior.
