Vande Bharat train

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate 10 new Vande Bharat trains across various routes in the country, pushing the total number of operational trains past the half-century mark. These new additions come a little over two months since the last batch of trains were launched.

10 New Vande Bharat‘s Routes
The 10 new trains cover a range of routes, including
1. Lucknow-Dehradun
2. Patna-Lucknow
3. New Jalpaiguri-Patna
4. Puri-Visakhapatnam
5. Kalaburagi–Bengaluru
6. Ranchi-Varanasi
7. Khajuraho-Delhi.

Additionally, the Railway Ministry will introduce the second set of Vande Bharat trains on
8. Ahmedabad-Mumbai
9. Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam
10 Mysuru-Chennai routes.

Vande Bharat Extensions and Enhancements
Furthermore, four existing Vande Bharat routes will see extensions, enhancing connectivity. These extensions include the
1. Ahmedabad-Jamnagar route extended till Dwarka
2. The Ajmer-Delhi train till Chandigarh
3. The Gorakhpur-Lucknow till Prayagraj
4. Thiruvananthapuram-Kasargod route extended till Mangaluru

Vande Bharat trains primarily operate on electrified Broad Gauge networks across states.

Vande Bharat Expansion
This expansion follows the inauguration of six new Vande Bharat trains in December 2023, which included routes like Katra-New Delhi, Amritsar-Delhi, Coimbatore-Bangalore, Mangalore-Madgaon, Jalna-Mumbai, and Ayodhya-Delhi. Additionally, the second train between Delhi and Varanasi was also introduced during that period.

Vande Bharat trains to cross 50
With the addition of these 10 new trains, the total count of Vande Bharat trains operating across the nation will reach 51, covering 45 routes. Notably, six routes now boast two Vande Bharat trains, including Delhi-Katra, Delhi-Varanasi, Mumbai-Ahmedabad, Mysuru-Chennai, Kasaragod–Thiruvananthapuram, and after the new inauguration, Visakhapatnam–Secunderabad.

Vande Bharat trains City-wise
Among cities, Delhi will have the highest number of Vande Bharat trains with 10 trains terminating in the national capital. These trains connect Delhi with destinations such as Dehradun, Amb Andaura, Bhopal, Ayodhya, Amritsar, and now Khajuraho. Mumbai follows closely with six dedicated trains, including new services to Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. Chennai has five trains, and the second Vande Bharat train for Mysuru will commence operations from Tuesday.
