KURUKSHETRA: Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar of Haryana announced plans to offer employment opportunities to 60,000 young individuals belonging to families with an annual income of less than Rs 1.80 lakh. The initiative, set to roll out in the coming months, underscores the government’s commitment to addressing economic disparities by providing meaningful employment to those in need.This strategic move aims to uplift the financial prospects of families falling within the specified income bracket and contribute to overall socio-economic development in the state.
The chief minister made the announcement while addressing the state-level ‘Vivekananda Youth Mahasammelan’ here on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda‘s birth anniversary.
Khattar stated that within the framework of ‘Mission 60,000‘, the government would engage 7,500 ‘Van Mitra’ individuals, recruit 15,000 contractual employees through the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam and engage 7,500 ‘e-Sewa Mitra’ for Common Services Centre among others.
In addition, 15,000 youths with a diploma or a degree in civil engineering will be trained so that they can become contractors, he added.
“The government will extend a loan of Rs 3 lakhs to these individuals for one year without requiring any collateral. Trained youths under this programme will be exempt from providing a guarantee for work up to Rs 25 lakh. The goal is to boost their annual income, enabling them to rise above the Below Poverty Line (BPL) threshold,” Khattar said.
Paying tributes to Swami Vivekananda, the chief minister said his life is an inspiration to all. “In 1893, he presented India’s perspective at the World’s Parliament of Religions in Chicago, and our nation received great honour and recognition for his profound representation,” Khattar said.
Earlier, the chief minister also laid the foundation stone of the Saraswati Vatika development work of the irrigation and water resources department. A sum of Rs 3.68 crore will be spent on this project in three phases.
Karnal MP Sanjay Bhatia and Printing and Stationery Minister Sandeep Singh were also present on the occasion.
