Online Classes Extended in Gurugram Schools: The Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram has decided to extend the discontinuation of physical classes for students up to Class 12 in both government and private schools due to the prevailing severe Air Quality Index (AQI) levels. This decision applies to all urban and rural areas of the district and will remain in effect until November 25, 2024.
Citing a memo from the Directorate of Secondary Education, Haryana, the order states that district authorities have been authorized to assess and take necessary actions to ensure student safety in response to poor air quality. The severe AQI levels in Gurugram prompted the continuation of online classes, prioritizing the health and well-being of children.
In lieu of physical attendance, schools have been instructed to conduct online classes during this period. The initiative aims to minimize exposure to harmful air pollutants, which can adversely affect children’s respiratory health.
The order follows a previous directive issued on November 18, 2024, reinforcing the importance of safeguarding children from the hazardous air conditions. Schools are expected to ensure a seamless transition to virtual learning to avoid disruption in the academic schedule.
Parents and students are urged to stay updated on further announcements, as any changes will depend on improvements in the AQI levels.
