GJEPC launches ‘Exporters Development Program’ pan-India

The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council has launched the ‘Exporters Development Program’ across India. The two-month online intensive course is designed to enable Indian gem and jewellery businesses to enter the international market for growth. 

“Designed to support gem and jewellery manufacturers and traders aspiring to enter export markets, the initiative focuses on enhancing participants’ understanding of export fundamentals, providing practical knowledge, and addressing queries,” announced the GJEPC on its website. “This initiative is expected to expand India’s gem and jewellery exporter base and boost exports, contributing to the sector’s revival in the near future.”

The GJEPC launched its first Exporters Development Program on December 13, 2024. The program is made up of eight modules comprising Assessing Export Readiness, Export Procedures and Documentation, Identifying Buyers, Exporting via E-Commerce Platforms, Building Brands, MSME (micro, small, and medium enterprise) Schemes and Policy Incentives, Accessing Middle East Markets through IJEX, and Exporting under free trade agreements. The program kicked off with 140 participants enrolled and regional export managers have been deployed to offer local support. 

The traders’ body works to increase Indian gem and jewellery exports as well as ameliorate the domestic industry. One of the ways the GJEPC seeks to boost the jewellery sector is through its organisation of and participation in global trade shows. The GJEPC’s next international business to business jewellery fair is India International Jewellery Show Signature in Mumbai which will run from January 4 to 7 at the Jio World Convention Centre and from January 5 to 8 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre and bring together Indian jewellery manufacturers and buyers, wholesalers, and retailers from across the globe, the GJEPC announced on Facebook.
