The CPI inflation rate in Germany was 4.5 per cent in September, the Federal Statistical Office said. Food prices drove inflation.
In August and July, the rate stood at 6.1 per cent and 6.2 per cent respectively.
Consumer prices in September rose by 0.3 per cent month on month.
Energy product prices in the month were 1 per cent higher year on year.
