Womenswear brand Ganga Fashions has partnered with a group of acid attack survivors to launch its new joint fashion and awareness campaign in collaboration with the Chaanv Foundation.
“Our ‘Dil Se Sherni’ campaign transcends fashion,” said Ganga Fashions’ founder Sanjay Gangwani in a press release. “It’s a movement to drive change and challenge conventional perceptions of beauty and bravery. These women are not victims; they are symbols of strength, resilience, and transformative power. Through this initiative, we aim to amplify their voices and celebrate their extraordinary courage. At Ganga Fashions, we believe in the power of purpose-driven action. This campaign embodies our commitment to making a meaningful difference in the world.”
The campaign sees acid attack survivors wear Ganga Fashions’ latest designs for its ‘Sherni Collection,’ featuring bright hues and intricate motifs. Ganga Fashions will donate 10% of the sales proceeds from the campaign to the Chaanv Foundation while sharing stories of self confidence and growth. The campaign’s narrative was developed with its participants in order to make sure their stories are authentically told, according to the brand
The Chaanv Foundation works towards the rehabilitation and empowerment of acid attack survivors in India. The non-profit organisation was launched by Alok Dixit and Ashish Shukla in 2013 and runs a number of cafes under the name Sheroes Hangout in locations including Noida and Lucknow.
