The civil services examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is considered one of the most challenging exams in India. While many give up due to any reason, some set an example through their unwavering determination and hard work. One such example is IAS officer Arpita Thube.
Arpita hails from Thane city in Maharashtra. Her academic record has been exemplary from a young age. She completed her studies in Electrical Engineering from Sardar Patel College of Engineering. With a strong desire to serve the country, she began preparing for the UPSC exam.
Became IAS In The Fourth Attempt
Arpita appeared for the UPSC exam for the first time in 2019. However, she was unable to clear the preliminaries, which was a huge setback. Instead of giving up, she treated it as a learning experience. In 2020, she came back stronger, and her hard work paid off when she secured the 383rd rank and joined the Indian Police Service (IPS). However, her true aspiration was to join the Indian Administrative Service (IAS).
Arpita appeared for the UPSC exam again in 2021 but fell short of her goal. Despite the setback, her resolve remained unshaken. In her fourth and final attempt, Arpita took a break from her IPS duties to fully focus on her preparation. In 2022, her dedication and perseverance bore fruit when she achieved success in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), securing the 214th rank.
