Luxury Swiss watch brand Franck Muller will launch an exclusive collection of 108 timepieces in the Indian market. The business sees the country as presenting significant growth opportunities and is also eyeing an entry into India’s luxury real estate sector.
“We are working on a very exclusive project of handcrafted 108 pieces for India and we hope to launch it before Diwali,” Franck Muller’s managing director for the Middle East, Africa, and India Erol Baliyan told the Economic Times in an interview. “Our real estate foray has been very successful and we want to do the third project in India. Hopefully, we will have a Franck Muller tower in the skyline in India in [the] future.”
As the Chinese economy’s growth wavers and European markets see a downturn, Franck Muller plans to focus on the Indian market and expects it to witness significant growth in the coming three to five years. Swiss watch exports to the country currently make up just a small portion of its luxury consumption spend so the business sees wide room to grow its Indian operations.
Franck Muller counts 11 points of sale in India and launched its second exclusive brand outlet in New Delhi in partnership with the Kapoor Watch Company. The brand is considering launching an additional point of sale in Mumbai in the future.
