Arshad Warsi is known for his solid comic timing. But yesterday, October 20, he terrorized an audience of more than 200 at the screening of Ghamsaan held at MAMI Mumbai Film Festival 2024 in a multiplex in Mumbai. The film received a great response and there were claps not just at the end but also during the film in key scenes. Arshad was joined by the other leading actor, Pratik Gandhi, at the gala premiere of the film. The others from the team of the film present at the screening were actor Ishita Dutta, director Tigmanshu Dhulia and producers Abhaynanad Singh and Ashwini Chaudhary. The film is also produced by Piiyush Singh along with Jyoti Deshpande of Jio Studios.

After the screening, a Q-and-A session was held with the team of Ghamasaan. Arshad Warsi revealed that he put on weight for the role and then had to struggle to shed the excess kilos. In his trademark style, he quipped, “Shuruaat mein hum Aamir Khan banne ki koshish karte hai, baad mein bhaari pad jaata hai.”
He added, “At this age, it becomes very difficult to lose that weight. Agli baar, acting se kaam chala lunga!”
Tigmanshu Dhulia made a valid point on why biopics are the flavour of the season, “Societymein hero milte nahin hai. Youngsters are spending time on useless stuff. It’s all about them – meri coffee, meri Barista etc. So, we don’t see heroes in society. That’s why biopics are made.”
Pratik Gandhi talked about his process of playing an honest cop after playing the corrupt cop in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s web show, The Great Indian Murder. Two members of the audience, who asked him a question, remarked that they are also Gujaratis like Pratik and hence, they have a bias for him. Arshad Warsi joked, “Koi iski acting talent ki baat bhi kar lo!”
At the end of the session, Abhaynanad Singh announced, “Ghamsaanwill be coming to theatres in the first quarter of 2025. It’s a theatrical release. Please spread the word.” He also thanked his fellow producers of the film, namely Jyoti Deshpande and Shobha Sant of Jio Studios.
