Actor John Abraham recently sat down for an exclusive chat on Bollywood Hungama’s Lights, Camera, Podcast, where he discussed his latest film, The Diplomat. However, the conversation quickly turned nostalgic as he fondly spoke about working with Shah Rukh Khan in the 2023 blockbuster Pathaan, a film that also marked SRK’s grand return to the big screen after a five-year hiatus.

A Homecoming for John Abraham
During the interview, John expressed his deep admiration for Shah Rukh Khan, revealing that their association dates back to the early days of his career. “Shah Rukh was my judge when I won a competition called GladRags. So I started my career with him, and then I was with him again in Pathaan. For me, it was homecoming,” he shared.
The Pathaan star further praised SRK, calling him “the most attractive, charming man around” and describing him as “lovely” to work with.
The Protein Pasta Incident: A Funny Behind-the-Scenes Memory
One of the highlights of John’s chat was his humorous recollection of a behind-the-scenes moment with SRK on the sets of Pathaan. He shared an incident involving his daily protein pasta, which he once offered to King Khan. At first, SRK graciously accepted the dish and even praised it, but the truth came out later.
“I used to have this protein pasta every day, and once I gave it to him. He thought he had consumed poison! I didn’t realize because I thought he liked it—because Shah Rukh is a good actor,” John chuckled.
However, the real fun began when SRK humorously revealed his true feelings about the pasta at a press conference. “He said, ‘This is damn good.’ But later, he admitted that it tasted like cardboard stored in a refrigerator,” John laughed, adding, “I still remember the ouch.”
An Unforgettable Experience on Pathaan
Despite the playful banter, John emphasized the great camaraderie he shared with SRK on set, saying, “Every day was beautiful. We had a good time, and working with him was just great.”
Pathaan, directed by Siddharth Anand, became one of the biggest hits of 2023.
