The domestic producer price for energy in the EU increased by 1.3 per cent in December 2024 compared to November but decreased by 1.4 per cent year-on-year (YoY), according to Eurostat.

Electricity and gas prices increased 1.6 per cent monthly but were 0.4 per cent lower YoY.
Crude petroleum and natural gas extraction prices rose 1.6 per cent monthly and 7 per cent YoY.
Despite this recent decline, energy prices surged by 80.3 per cent between January 2021 and December 2024.
For electricity and gas supply, prices rose by 1.6 per cent in December 2024 compared with the previous month but remained 0.4 per cent lower than in December 2023.
The price of crude petroleum and natural gas extraction increased by 1.6 per cent on a monthly basis and saw a notable rise of 7 per cent compared with the previous year.
