Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) has announced scholarships for female students who have achieved excellence in various fields on the occasion of Navratri. Under this initiative, a total scholarship of Rs 99,000 will be awarded, where Rs 11,000 will be provided to a female student on each day of Navratri Festival. Students of DU can submit their certificates of achievements through the Google Form till March 31.
This initiative of ABVP-led DUSU is part of its commitment to empower women and promote academic excellence. The scholarship will be awarded to female students who have achieved exceptional achievements in their respective fields and have made significant contributions to society.
The selection process for this scholarship will take into account the academic merit, leadership potential and talent of these students, the official notice said. These scholarships will be awarded to girl students in fields such as academics, sports, NCC, dance, singing, debate/quiz, literary writing, painting, and also to the specially abled (PWD) girl students.
Mitravinda Karanwal, Secretary, Delhi University Students’ Union said, “We are proud to have the opportunity to recognise and honour the exceptional achievements of our female students on this auspicious occasion of Navratri. These scholarships are a testimony to our commitment to promote women empowerment and academic excellence among the university community.”
Delhi University Students’ Union Vice President Bhanu Pratap Singh said, “We believe that education is the key to unleash students’ potential, and we are committed to providing them with the necessary resources and support to achieve success.”

Meanwhile, the education ministry has recently informed the Parliament that in the past three years, close to five lakh applicants could not secure a seat at Delhi University. The university saw a surge in the number of applications received each year against the limited number of seats, Minister of State (MoS) for Education Sukanta Majumdar said in a written reply in the Lok Sabha. A total of 464,870 students could not secure admission to DU over the past three years (2022, 2023, and 2024).
