The Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Dream Girl 2 showed a good jump in collections on Saturday as the business went up by approximately 30 percent on the second day. According to early estimates, Dream Girl 2 has collected in the range of Rs. 14 to 14.50 crores on the second day, taking the total collections to Rs. 24.50 crores.
The film has set the base for another gain in the business on Sunday as the three-day weekend target will be around the Rs. 40 crore mark. Dream Girl 2 has seen a jump in business all across the board – be it the single screens or the multiplexes – and this is a good early sign for the film as far as trend in the long run is concerned. The initial audience word of mouth is decent enough for a comedy and with this talk, the film should sail through and emerge a success story.
Dream Girl 2 is a breather for Ayushmann Khurrana, whose last 3 to 4 releases refused to even take a start at the box office. Being a franchise film with a little slapstick feel, Dream Girl 2 has managed to get the audience in tier 2 and 3 centers excited, and the same is reflected in the collections.
Just a routine hold in collections on Monday and a generic trend will take the film in the North of Rs. 75 crores, which is good enough to get the successful tag at the box office. At the moment, the odds are favoring Dream Girl 2.
