Delhi Assembly Elections 2025: Schools and colleges remain closed as many serve as polling stations.
Voting for the Delhi Assembly Elections has started at 7 am and will continue until 6 pm. The results will be declared on Saturday, February 8. On this important day, several institutions and establishments in Delhi will remain closed, while some will continue to function.
All schools and colleges, whether public or private, will be closed since many of them are being used as polling stations.
The closure of schools and colleges is intended to ensure smooth voting without any disruptions. Educational institutions serving as polling stations may also remain closed a day before the election, following usual practices.
Jamia Millia Islamia has declared a two-day holiday for its Middle School due to the elections. As per an official statement, both students and staff will have leave on February 4 and 5 to facilitate election preparations. The notice also mentions that the school premises will be handed over to the authorities for polling arrangements.

Government offices and banks will remain closed on election day to allow employees to cast their votes. Cinemas and theatres are also expected to stay shut during polling hours to encourage maximum voter participation.
Delhi Metro services began at 4 am today. Trains run every 30 minutes until 6 am, after which the regular schedule will resume. The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) will also run extra buses to help people travel easily for voting.
Hospitals and pharmacies will remain open to provide healthcare services. Grocery stores and restaurants will also operate as usual, with no restrictions on their functioning.
