Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao has slammed the ruling Congress party, accusing it of thrusting ‘emergency regime’ on the State in the name of ‘Indiramma rajyam’.

“The persons at the helm are resorting to repressive measures targeting the BRS cadres,” he alleged while addressing the party workers at a meeting held in Karimnagar on Sunday (March 23, 2025).

The preparatory meeting was organised ahead of the public meeting to be held in Warangal on April 27 in connection with the party’s 25th foundation day.

Addressing the gathering, Mr.Rama Rao said, “Record the names of those harassing our BRS cadres and we will not leave them after coming to power. All sections of society, including farmers, are vexed with the Congress party’s misrule and deception. People are seeing the difference now and recalling the welfare era of BRS rule under K.Chandrasekhar Rao, the first Chief Minister of Telangana.”

Training his guns at the BJP, he alleged that the Narendra Modi-led regime at the Centre had failed to deliver on its promises of ensuring 2 crore jobs every year and depositing ₹15 lakh into every citizen’s bank account.

“Both the national parties — the Congress and the BJP — earned the dubious distinction of decades-long deception,” he charged.

The BRS will hold year-long programmes highlighting the historic Telangana statehood movement, and Telangana’s achievements under the aegis of Mr.Chandrasekhar Rao to mark the party’s silver jubilee foundation day, he said calling on party leaders and cadres to make the April 27 public meeting in Warangal a resounding success.

He added that photo exhibitions, workshops, and other events will be organised as part of the year-long celebrations across the State.
