With this gesture, the channel aims to ignite a fire in the hearts of dreamers everywhere, urging them to soar higher for their dreams. Readers would be aware that the channel is all set to introduce the inspiring tale of a small-town girl with big ambitions – Apollena starring Aditi Sharma in the titular role and Sandeep Baswana as Girdhar Shukla.
Colors reach for the stars literally! Channel names a star after their first-ever space-based series Apollena
Determined to become India’s first female astronaut, the show traces the journey of a girl named Apollena who embarks on a journey to live her dream and restore her father’s honour. Based in Lucknow, Apollena courageously plots her journey to the space, in a world where the girls around her are expected to manage kitchens rather than their careers. With her father Girdhar as her only support, she navigates conservative prejudices, burning bright with passion to become an astronaut. However, Her father is wrongfully implicated in a crime while trying to secure her future, leaving him behind bars. As Apollena struggles to keep her dreams alive, the weight of family crisis, combined with a dip in her academic performance, threatens to crush her spirit.
Talking about the show, Aditi Sharma said, “I am beyond grateful to COLORS for naming a star Apollena in honour of our show. It’s an incredibly humbling moment for me, and I can’t think of a better way to symbolize the limitless possibilities that our show represents. It’s not just a tribute to Apollena’s character, but also a celebration of the limitless possibilities that lie ahead when we dare to dream big. Followed by an extensive digital campaign for Apollena – Sapno Ki Unchi Udann, the show premieres on December 3 and will air every day at 6:00 pm only on Colors.
