Chhaava has taken a very good opening at the box office. The film was in news en route release and while a good opening was definitely on the cards, things started looking better and better as the advance booking kickstarted. By the time Thursday came to a close, it was a given that the film will cross Rs. 20 crores mark and even Rs. 25 crores seemed possible.
However, Valentine’s Day meant that many more younger couples lined up for the film as well. Though this isn’t a Valentine’s theme film, celebratory mood amongst youth meant that footfalls did see a push. As a result, the first day collections have come as Rs. 33.10 crores, which is really good. There is very good chunk of business, which has come from Maharashtra where the story is based, and that’s on expected lines as well. However, the overall numbers are still high which indicates that there is audience in rest of the country as well.
The start has come for the Vicky Kaushal starrer and now it’s about sustaining from this point on. A Rs. 100 crores weekend is given for the film and if it sustains as well from Monday onwards then this could well turn out to be the first Rs. 200 Crore Club film of 2025.
