CBSE Class 12 Business Studies Paper Analysis: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the Class 12 board exam for Business Studies and Business Administration today from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. According to Priyanka Sapra, an educator at Shiv Nadar School, Gurgaon, the Business Studies paper was well-balanced and designed to assess both conceptual understanding and application-based learning.

Sapra noted that the exam was closely aligned with the NCERT content, making it accessible for students who had diligently studied and revised from the textbook. She praised the paper for striking a perfect balance between direct and application-based questions, which not only kept the exam engaging but also challenged students to think critically.

Reflecting on the students’ experience, Sapra mentioned, “The paper struck the right balance between direct and application-based questions, making it both engaging and thought-provoking. Students particularly enjoyed solving the case-based questions and were satisfied with the overall exam experience.”

According to Vedika Singh, an educator at Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad, the Business Studies exam was rated as easy to moderate by the majority of students. Many found the paper manageable, especially those who had practised NCERT-based questions, case studies, and previous years’ question papers.

Singh highlighted that students were able to complete the exam within the allotted time, thanks to the well-structured nature of the paper. While the 3- and 4-mark questions were straightforward and easy to understand, the 6-mark case-based question posed a slight challenge, demanding deeper analysis and critical thinking. This, however, aligned with the paper’s overall pattern.

Reflecting on the overall student sentiment, Singh noted, “Students walked out feeling satisfied with the paper. For many, it was their first paper of the board exams, and successfully navigating it brought a sense of relief and confidence.”

Section Analysis:

1 Mark: Easy to moderate – 20% of the questions required a higher level of competency.

3 Marks: Explicit and easy-to-understand questions.

4 Marks: Primarily case study questions requiring conceptual knowledge.

6 Marks: A mix of application-based and direct questions, testing deeper analysis and critical thinking.
