The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode is gearing up to conduct the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 for admission to its management programmes. Recently, the institute released a revised admission policy for the academic session 2025-26, which increases the weightage of Class 12 scores for the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) admissions. Despite this, the weightage for CAT 2024 scores remains unchanged at 35 per cent, the same as last year.

Under the new admission criteria for 2025, Class 12 scores will now carry a weightage of 20 per cent, while the weightage for Class 10 scores has been reduced to 15 per cent. In comparison, the previous year’s policy assigned 15 per cent weightage to Class 12 scores and 25 per cent to Class 10 scores.

The CAT 2024 exam is scheduled to be conducted on November 24. The institute will announce the list of candidates shortlisted for stage 2 by the last week of January 2025, while the final merit list for admissions will be released around the second week of May 2025.

IIM Kozhikode Admissions 2025

IIM Kozhikode’s admissions process for its flagship PGP program (2025-27) through CAT 2024 follows a three-stage selection process. It includes registration of candidates meeting the eligibility criteria, followed by shortlisting for the Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI), and final shortlisting which is based on CAT score, resume score and performance in WAT and PI.

Stage 1

To apply to IIM Kozhikode for PGP admissions 2025, candidates with a graduation degree having at least 60 per cent aggregate marks are eligible. Moreover, applicants who do not have a graduation degree but possess CA, CMA (ICWA), or CS with a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate marks in these degrees are eligible. Candidates who successfully register for the CAT 2024 will be considered for the second stage of the selection process at the institute. This score will be calculated taking into account performance in CAT 2024, Class 10 and 12 scores, gender diversity, academic diversity, and work experience.

Stage 3

IIM Kozhikode will conduct the Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) across several cities, including Kolkata, Kozhikode, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and New Delhi. During the WAT, candidates will be given an essay topic, which will be announced at the exam venue. In the PI, the interviewer will assess candidates based on their academic performance, personality, general awareness, attitude, communication skills, and quality of work experience.

Following this, the institute will prepare a category-wise merit list based on the performance of candidates in CAT 2024, WAT, and PI, and resumes. The weightage given to each component for the final shortlisting is given below:
