Prashant Kishor’s party has moved the Patna High Court, seeking the cancellation of the BPSC 70th CCE Exam.
Amid Prashant Kishor’s fast-unto-death protest over alleged irregularities in the BPSC 70th CCE Exam, his Jan Suraaj Party has approached the Patna High Court, seeking the cancellation of the competitive exams, his lawyer said on Friday.
Advocate Pranav Kumar said that the petition, which highlights “irregularities in the Combined Competitive Exams held on December 13,” is scheduled for hearing on January 15.
“The case was mentioned today before the single-judge bench of Justice Arvind Singh Chandel, and the hearing will take place on January 15,” he told PTI-Bhasha.
Kumar pointed out that the petition focuses on large-scale irregularities in exams held across the state, including instances where candidates carried mobile phones into examination halls that had no jammers. He also mentioned that in several locations, examinees were seen solving their question papers together.
He claimed such irregularities were reported from many exam centers, not just the Bapu Pariksha Parisar, where many candidates had boycotted the exams, alleging that the question paper had been leaked.
“We have requested the cancellation of the entire examination and action against officials responsible for the irregularities,” the lawyer added.
Kishor’s Fast Continues; BPSC Denies Irregularities In Exams
Around five lakh candidates appeared at over 900 centres across the state for the exams. A re-examination was held for 1,200 candidates at the Bapu Pariksha Parisar Centre. The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has denied the allegations of irregularities, claiming there was a “conspiracy” to get the exams cancelled.
The commission’s decision to order a re-exam for a select group of candidates has upset others, who have protested, saying it has deprived them of a fair chance.
Kishor, who is supporting the protest, began his fast-unto-death on January 2 and has refused to end it, despite doctors advising him to resume eating normally.
His party has stated that he may end his fast if Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar agrees to meet a delegation of civil service aspirants to resolve the issue.
