Bollywood has a reason to rejoice. More than 100 days after Diwali release of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which entered the Rs. 200 Crore Club and emerged as a huge success, there is finally a big grosser at theatres. Kartik Aaryan led horror comedy was the last big Bollywood success in theatres and that too back in November, and that pretty much explains the terrible run that movies have been having at the box office.
However, Chhaava has come as a respite as the film has not just done well but also emerged as a major money spinner while being set up well as a blockbuster in the making. In just 6 days, the film has entered the Rs. 200 Crore Club.
The Vicky Kaushal, Akshaye Khanna and Vineet Kumar Singh starrer will go on to have a long run at the box office and could well be taking an aim at a lifetime of Rs. 350-400 crores. This would be huge for the industry since it was back in 2023 that Bollywood had seen several biggies like Pathaan, Jawan, Gadar 2 and Animal and post that barring Stree 2 (2024), not a single Bollywood film went past even Rs. 300 crores mark.
This will happen now for Chhaava and all eyes are now on Sikandar to make it big. Salman Khan is returning almost a year and a half after Tiger 3 and he has a huge responsibility on his shoulders to keep Bollywood’s flag high at the box office.
