It’s raining records for Gadar 2. The film had a stupendous Sunday as it continued to stay into the 30s and this time came quite close to the Rs. 40 crores mark actually. In its 10-day run so far, the film has crossed the Rs. 30 crores mark 8 times which goes on to show how huge it is. A bonafide blockbuster would be happy to have a Rs. 20 crores+ day for this much duration and here we are taking about the 30s.
In the process, the Sunny Deol, Utkarsh Sharma and Ameesha Patel starrer has now gone past Rs. 350 crores milestone as well, what with Sunday collections coming to Rs. 38.90 crores. The total reads as Rs. 375.10 crores, which means an average of over Rs. 37 crores per day since its release. Simply unbelievable, as there is so much more that the film is yet to achieve.
Some of the other records that Gadar 2 has broken are lifetime numbers of several other all times blockbusters. In a matter of just 10 days, Sanju (Rs. 342.53 crores), PK (Rs. 340.80 crores) and Tiger Zinda Hai (Rs. 339.25 crores) are history. The next big one is Dangal (Rs. 387.38 crores) and that film too would be out of the way for Gadar 2 by tomorrow itself, if not today. From there on, the film will be fighting the big boys – KGF: Chapter 2, Baahubali: The Conclusion and Pathaan.
