Hansi Flick, Inigo Martinez.
Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick stated that he remains focused on the target of clinching La Liga for the Catalan side amid threats of sanctions defender Inigo Martinez could face, as the Spaniard took part in Barcelona’s 3-0 decimation of Osasuna after pulling out of the national team citing a discomfort in the knee.
According to the rules, a player who does not answer a national team call-up can’t represent his club for upto five days after the latest fixture of the country, without permission from the national federation.
Martinez, who pulled out of Spain’s UEFA Nations League squad citing discomfort in his knee, played the entire ninety minutes of the La Liga game against Osasuna for the Blaugrana and the opponents have flagged the same to the national federation.
“We won three points and this is my focus, so I’m focussing on the next match against Girona,” Flick said.
“The other thing is not in my hands, it’s not about me,” he added.
Barcelona sealed a three-point lead at the top of the Spanish top-flight with the win as Ferran Torres and Dani Olmo struck before Robert Lewandowski added the side’s third off the bench. Flick lauded the efforts of the Polish star to work for the cause of the side instead of chasing personal accolades.
Lewandowski leads the scoring charts in La Liga this season with 23 strikes to his name, three ahead of closest competitor Kylian Mabappe.
“Lewandowski is focused on the success of the team, not just winning the Pichichi,” said Flick.
“Of course ,he wants to score goals, he wants to play, but he also sees what the team needs,” the German continued.

“This makes me really proud, about the behaviour of Lewy, and it was a really great situation, a great moment and everything went the right way against Osasuna, so it’s something I really appreciate,” he added.
