Bajaj Platina, CNG bike India launch

Bajaj CNG bike – Bruzer – could be the most fuel efficient bike in the sub-125cc commuter segment.

The upcoming Bajaj CNG bike has been spotted testing yet again and sources close to the project have informed us that it is likely to be called the Bruzer.

  1. Could be offered with Bajaj’s 102cc, 115cc or 124cc engines
  2. Has a new alloy wheel design, gets hand guards
  3. Expected to be priced around Platina price range

Considering that Bajaj has three different engines in the commuter category – 102cc, 115cc and 124cc – it remains to be seen which category the CNG bike will be based on, although the latter two are more probable. It is also entirely possible that Bajaj will offer this CNG technology in multiple variants with different engine capacities.

CNG fuel is much less energy dense than petrol, but the running costs are considerably lower, which is what makes it so popular. Once launched, the Bajaj CNG bike could have the lowest running costs (in terms of fuel) in the industry. However it will be interesting to see how much tank range the bike has as well as how Bajaj packages the entire system.

Not much is visible in these grainy spy images, but we can make out a few design elements with certainty. An LED headlight, a small front cowl, knuckle guards and new 5-spoke alloy wheels are visible here. What is also quite plainly visible is that this will be a very practical and spacious machine, as most Indian commuter motorcycles tend to be.

Considering that the bike will be sub-125cc, it gets a disc brake only at the front and whether Bajaj chooses to offer single-channel ABS, like on the Platina 110, remains to be seen.

The Bajaj Bruzer CNG bike is likely to be launched in the festive season this year and we expect it to be priced somewhere above the current Platina and CT range.
