Veteran Bollywood actress Zeenat Aman has shared an update on her health and social media journey, revealing she recently underwent a medical procedure. Posting from her hospital recovery room, the 73-year-old actress opened up about her absence from Instagram and her renewed inspiration to continue storytelling on the platform.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Zeenat explained her recent silence, stating, “The drudgery of paperwork and the anxiety of a pending medical procedure have kept me preoccupied these past few weeks.” Now on the mend, she expressed gratitude for the experience, noting, “There’s nothing like the sombre, clinical cold of a hospital to remind one of what it means to be alive and have a voice!” She teased upcoming content, including cinematic anecdotes, personal history, fashion, pets, and opinions, while inviting followers to suggest topics in the comments.
Accompanying her post were two images: one showing Zeenat in a hospital bed with a tray of food, appearing tired but engaged, and another capturing her receiving care from medical staff. The glimpses into her recovery room highlighted her resilience, as she remained connected with her audience despite her health challenges.
Zeenat also reflected on her two-year journey on social media, which began in February 2023. Celebrating over 800,000 followers as of April 2025, she described her evolving relationship with the platform: “I started the journey with trepidation that transitioned to empowerment that tipped into disillusionment that has now moved on to fresh curiosity!” While she appreciates the creative freedom Instagram offers, she cautioned against its pitfalls, stating, “Instagram is NOT reality.” She pointed out the dangers of manipulated content, undisclosed endorsements, and the pressure to overconsume, adding, “It’s a point of pride for me that we have grown this community without indulging in these borderline unethical gimmicks.”
The actress urged her followers to be mindful of their social media habits, advising, “You do not need to spend 6 hours a day mindlessly scrolling through your feed. Take it from an old gal, and mute those handles that make you feel bad about yourself, heighten your neuroses or push you to buy buy buy!” Signing off as “your fond Aunty Z,” Zeenat expressed optimism about engaging with her audience as she recuperates.
