Ananya Panday reveals dealing with the ‘need to defend’ her comment on ‘star kid struggles’; says, “But now, I’ve realized that nothing speaks louder than your work”
“This has been my best year,” Ananya shared. “Everything I’ve done in the past has worked up to this moment, and I couldn’t be more grateful and happy about it. The reactions from the audience for Call Me Bae and CTRL – actually, it all started with Kho Gaye Hum Kahan. That was the film that changed everything for me. The character connected with so many young people out there, and it made me truly understand the impact cinema can have on one’s life.”
Ananya also revisited the infamous 2020 viral moment when her co-star Siddhant Chaturvedi’s comment, ‘Jaha tumhaari struggles khatam hoti hai, waha se humaari struggles shuru hoti hai (Where your struggle ends, our struggle starts from there),’ triggered a wave of trolling against her. Reflecting on the incident, she admitted, “It’s something that has stuck with me to this day. Sometimes, I feel the need to defend myself or explain what I meant. But I’ve realized that nothing speaks louder than your work. You just have to put your head down, give your best, and eventually, it will reach people.” Despite facing online criticism in the past, the actress believes that she is in a place where her work resonates louder than words.
On the work front, Ananya Panday has an interesting slew of projects to look forward including the C. Sankaran Nair biopic co-starring Akshay Kumar and R. Madhavan, that is a historical drama set in the early 1900s and will release in March next year.
