Ampere Nexus electric scooter: what do we know thus far?

The Ampere Nexus is the production-spec version of the NXG concept showcased over a year ago at the Auto Expo. Ampere embarked on the journey on January 16 from Salal Dam, Jammu and Kashmir, and it ended today in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu. The Ampere Nexus will have four riding modes and an LFP (Lithium Ferrous Phosphate) battery.

The Nexus will sit above the Primus in the company’s line-up, considering it appears to be a premium product with a large digital display, flush-mounted pillion foot pegs, all-LED lighting and even a front disc brake – an Ampere first. Ampere has even claimed that there are no nuts or bolts visible in plain sight, although we’ll reserve judgement on this until we can verify this for ourselves. There is a K2K edition e-scooter available to purchase and it can be pre-booked for a token amount of Rs 499 on the company’s website.

With the FAME subsidy expiring at the end of this month and a new scheme taking its place, it remains to be seen exactly where the Ampere Nexus will slot in the market upon its launch.
