German sportswear brand Adidas has opened a new outlet store in Kochi to expand its retail presence in South India. The new store measures 7,500 square feet and is one of the brand’s largest stores to date in the region.
The new store is located on NH Bypass Road in Edappally, India Retailing reported. As well as retailing Adidas’ full product selection of men’s, women’s, and children’s sports and casual wear and accessories, the store is also designed to have a range of technological features to give shoppers a seamless online and offline shopping experience.
“First Adidas’ own retail store at god’s own country, Kerala, located at the queen of Arabian sea, Kochi,” wrote Adidas’ cluster manager Anoop M on Linkedin. “We proudly present the biggest factory outlet in South at Kochi, Kerala.”
The new store features a broad range of footwear including fashion style sneakers and performance models. “Extremely happy to share that we are operational with one of our largest outlet stores in South India,” wrote Adidas’ senior manager of real estate Viswanath Menon on Linkedin.
Adidas first launched in the Indian market in 1989 before re-entering the country in 1996. The brand received the necessary government permissions to open 100% foreign-owned stores in India in 2016 and has been opening exclusive brand outlets across the country ever since.
