Divisional commissioner Amit Gupta on Wednesday during a meet with members of Tourism Development and Encouragement Committee highlighted the importance of visiting the glorious history and tourist places of the city for secondary school students.
He asked district inspector of schools to start Kanpur tourism as soon as possible after discussing with various schools. The divisional commissioner directed that this Kanpur Darshan Yatra would include all the potential tourist places of Kanpur like Bithoor, Green Park visitor gallery, Kanpur boat club, places related to 1957, Nana Rao park, Motijheel, Iskcon temple, Phoolbagh light show, and zoological park etc.
He asked to Kanpur Smart city and Kanpur City bus limited to cooperate in this project. The entry fee for students coming in groups to the said tourist places would be half and guide facilities would also be available as a special attraction, Gupta added.“After starting this yatra with the students, it would also be started for other social clubs, organizations and other people of the city. In this way, the delightful tourist places would be publicized, which would help in establishing the city on the tourism map,” Gupta told TOI.
