Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh peaked on Sunday as Rs. 8.14 crores more came in. The jump from Friday to Saturday was excellent and then on Sunday stabilisation was set to happen with some increment in numbers again. This is what happened and good collections on Sunday means that weekdays will be good at a mid-range.
As long as over Rs. 2 crores come on each of the days, it would be good enough as that would mean that over Rs. 8 crores would be further added to the film’s total. In fact, the film would need a little better than Rs. 2 crores between Monday to Wednesday since Raid 2 and The Bhootnii are arriving on Thursday itself due to Labour Day partial holiday and that will give audiences a couple of more choices for multiplexes and single screens respectively. Yes, the holiday will help Kesari Chapter 2 as well but still, the impact will be there.
The film has now reached Rs. 65.93 crores and it would be aiming to reach as close as possible to Rs. 75 crores mark before the second week is through. In terms of being one of the higher grossers of the year so far, it would have a close shave with Jaat and while the Sunny Deol starrer is currently ahead, the Akshay Kumar film be aiming to bridge this gap and then do a bit more in its final run.
