New Kia Carens reveal on May 8

The Kia Carens facelift is set to break cover on May 8, 2025. While the current Carens has been on sale since 2022, the MPV’s facelifted version will not replace it. Instead, the facelift will sport a new suffix after the ‘Carens’ name and be sold alongside the current model. Kia is also developing an all-electric derivative of the Carens facelift, but this will debut at a later date.

  1. Kia Carens facelift to get new headlights and tail-lamps, redesigned bumpers, and more
  2. Interior design to be largely unchanged; 360-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS to be included
  3. The three engine options will likely remain unchanged from the current Carens

2025 Kia Carens facelift exterior and interior design changes

Major cosmetic revisions anticipated

New Kia Carens reveal on May 8

As hinted by prior spy shots, the Carens facelift is expected to introduce a host of comprehensive styling updates all around. The fascia will get redesigned headlights that align with newer Kia models, the grille will be slimmer, and the bumper will see revisions as well. New alloy wheels are also anticipated, and the rear end will prominently feature a restyled LED lightbar, likely akin to that of the Seltos.

Interior updates likely to be less pronounced

Spy shots of the Carens facelift’s interior haven’t yet surfaced, but we expect milder changes than the exterior. New upholstery and colour options are a safe bet, and updated trim for the dashboard and doors is also a possibility.

2025 Kia Carens facelift new features

While the Carens facelift’s interior design won’t see many changes, its features list will be bolstered with more creature comforts. Among the prominent additions will be a 360-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS for enhanced safety and convenience. A larger infotainment touchscreen, an updated all-digital instrument cluster and a panoramic sunroof may also be available in the pricier variants.

Current engine options to be carried forward

The Carens facelift is expected to retain the current model’s powertrain configurations. Three 1.5-litre engines will be available: an entry-level 115hp, 144Nm petrol unit, a 160hp, 253Nm turbo-petrol motor, and a 116hp, 250Nm turbo-diesel mill. The entry-level petrol engine comes only with a 6-speed manual gearbox, while the Carens’ turbo-petrol powerplant gets a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Meanwhile, the diesel engine has a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter auto.

2025 Kia Carens facelift price and rivals

Expected to cross Rs 20 lakh ex-showroom for top-spec trims

The Carens’ ex-showroom price is Rs 10.60 lakh-19.70 lakh, and the facelift will likely command a premium across the board, crossing over Rs 20 lakh for the fully-loaded trim. It will primarily compete with MPVs like the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Maruti Suzuki XL6 and Toyota Rumion and also overlap in price with 3-row SUVs like the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari and MG Hector.
