Gagan Arora, known for his relatable, boy-next-door roles in shows like College Romance and Tabbar, takes a significant turn with his latest project Khauf. Khauf was an extremely different adventure,” the actor said. “I had never done anything like this before — in fact, I was scared. Scared of how people would react, scared of how I’d process the darkness of Nakul.” Arora’s portrayal of Nakul goes beyond performance – it delves into the psychological burden of portraying a character driven by disturbing motivations. The actor opened up about the emotional weight the role carried, even after the cameras stopped rolling. “There were days I couldn’t speak to my wife after pack-up. I couldn’t even sleep next to her,” he shared. “It wasn’t some method acting gimmick, it’s just that when you start believing in a character’s warped logic for too long, your own mind starts pushing back.”

This stark shift in tone and genre marks a departure from his earlier, more familiar roles. While audiences have appreciated his light-hearted charm in series like College Romance – where he played the popular character Bagga – and his layered performances in shows like The Fame Game and Tabbar, Khauf signals a new phase in Arora’s career, one where he’s willing to explore discomforting emotional landscapes.

In portraying Nakul, Arora steps into territory that is both demanding and risky, but perhaps also necessary for an actor looking to broaden his range. As streaming platforms continue to create space for more nuanced and genre-bending content, Gagan Arora’s decision to take on Khauf may resonate as a turning point in his career—one that reflects both growth and bold experimentation.
