After collecting Rs. 4.27 crores on Thursday, Jaat needed to have a good hold on Friday to be assured of a decent second week as well. Had this been a regular Friday with Kesari – Chapter 2 as competition, the film would have been happy to find itself in that Rs. 3.50-4 crores zone. However Good Friday partial holiday meant that Rs. 4 crores was assured for the film and anything on top of that would have been added bonus.
Though the numbers didn’t go up for the Sunny Deol starrer, the day still ended up bringing in Rs. 3.95 crores, which is decent again. In fact, the film has been constantly in the same range from Wednesday itself and now the growth will come right till Sunday due to the weekend factor. What matters is the quantum of jump that it takes because this is what will ensure an overall good lifetime total for Jaat.
While it’s a given that Rs. 85 crores will certainly come in the film, it will be jumps that come in today and tomorrow that will decide if Rs. 90 crores lifetime would be accomplished, whereas holds from weekdays onwards will be the deciding factor for a Rs. 100 Crore Club entry. It’s going to be very difficult since Kesari – Chapter 2 is seeing good momentum building for it already, which means next few days are going to be very interesting for the action drama that has brought in Rs. 66.19 crores so far.
