Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi playing together in the same team? It can’t ever be, right? Well, it seems like Carlos Tevez might actually make the dream come true for all to witness.

Former Argentina striker Tevez recently expressed his desire to have his former teammates Ronaldo and Messi partake in his farewell game at La Bombonera, a tribute to his extraordinary playing career that spanned nearly two decades.

Tevez and Messi represented their beloved Argentina together on the international stage for over a decade: from 2005 to 2015.

On the other hand, Tevez and Ronaldo both graced the hallowed grounds of Old Trafford at Manchester United, playing two seasons in the Premier League before the Argentine ultimately left for rival Manchester City in 2009.

In an interview on streaming platform Olga, when asked about the possibility of bringing the two footballing legends together, Tevez said: “Yes, I’m going to do it [farewell game]. I probably will do it. We just have to figure out when. It’s not easy.”

When asked if Messi and Ronaldo would play on different teams in the farewell game, Tevez said: “We’ll get them together.”

“I’m going after them. Leo (Messi) will surely come. Ronaldo’s saved in my contacts as CR7, and Leo as ‘El Enano.’”

Tevez also listed several other high-profile players from across his illustrious career, whom he hopes to reunite with for the occasion.

“(Edwin) Van der Sar on one side and (Gianluigi) Buffon on the other,” he said, referring to the goalkeepers. “At center back, we’ll probably have Rio Ferdinand, (Nemanja) Vidic… we’ll bring in (Giorgio) Chiellini, (Leonardo) Bonucci. Patrice Evra, my brother, has to be there. Midfielders… (Andrea) Pirlo, Paul Scholes, and Roman (Riquelme) will definitely be there. Rooney,” stated Tevez.

While no official date for the farewell has been set yet, the now-retired Tevez did announce that plans were underway for the big celebration at La Bombonera, the iconic stadium of his childhood club Boca Juniors, where he is currently working as a coach.
