However, the Board has issued an official clarification to address these widespread rumours.
According to the latest official press release by the Gujarat Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Gandhinagar, no announcement has been made regarding the declaration date and time for the GSEB HSC Result 2025. The Board has confirmed that a fabricated press release, written in Gujarati, is circulating on social media platforms, falsely claiming that results will be declared at 09:00 am on April 17, 2025.
Fake press release circulating on social media
The Board has categorically denied the authenticity of the alleged result announcement. In its official communication, GSEB clarified that no such press release has been issued and labelled the viral notice as “fake”. It further warned all stakeholders not to rely on unverified sources. The Board emphasised that the official date and time of the Class 12 (Science Stream) and GUJCAT-2025 results will only be published on the official website — gseb.org — once confirmed.
Past performance of GSEB HSC results
Looking at the result trends from previous years, the pass percentage of regular candidates rose significantly from 73.27% in 2023 to 91.93% in 2024. In 2024, a total of 3,78,268 regular candidates appeared, and 3,47,738 were eligible for certification. Female candidates outperformed their male counterparts with a pass percentage of 94.36% compared to 89.45% among males.

GSOS candidates and performance metrics
Regular GSOS candidates showed notable improvement in 2024 with a pass percentage of 54.98%, up from 33.86% in 2023. Similarly, repeat GSOS candidates improved their performance from 28.94% in 2023 to 50.14% in 2024. The number of schools achieving a 100% result also increased substantially from 311 in 2023 to 1,609 in 2024.
