The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the class 10 and 12 examinations from February 15 to April 2, 2025. The results are scheduled to be published on the official CBSE board websites at cbse.nic.in and cbse.gov.in. This year, more than 40 lakh students registered for the 10th and 12th board exams. As per media reports, the results are expected to be released in May.

CBSE Result 2025: When Were Results Released Last Year?

As the exams conclude, attention now turns to the expected result date and an analysis of past year trends. Last year, the results were announced on May 13 and it was declared on May 12 in 2023. While in the year 2022, the results were released on July 22.

CBSE Result 2025: How Class 12 Students Fared in the Exams Last Year?

The overall pass percentage recorded last year is 87.98 per cent which is a 0.65 per cent rise from 2023’s 87.33 per cent. Last year, more than 24,000 class 12 students received scores above 95 per cent, while more than 1.16 lakh received scores above 90 per cent. Girls surpassed boys by more than 6.40 per cent with over 91 per cent of girls passing tests.

CBSE Result 2025: How Class 10 Students Fared in the Exams Last Year?

Last year, 93.60 per cent of students who sat the class 10 exam passed it. This represents a 0.48 per cent gain over the 93.12 per cent who passed the CBSE 10th exam in the 2023. From Trivandrum, 99.75 per cent of students cleared the class 10 exam, followed by Vijayawada with 99.60 per cent, and Chennai, 99.30 per cent.

CBSE Result 2025: Passing Criteria

To pass the exam, the candidates need to score a minimum of 33 marks out of 100 in each subject. In the subjects involving both practical and theory then the candidates need to achieve 33 per cent marks in both separately to successfully clear the exam. For Maths, Science, Social Science, and English theory exams, the students need to score 27 marks out of 80. However, for the practical exams, all the candidates must score at least 6 marks out of 20 to clear the examination.
