“This year, in Season 18, we’ve seen a significant surge in IPL merchandise sales,” Playr’s founder and Icorets’ director Ravi Kukreja told ET Retail. “The enthusiasm among fans is at an all time high.”

Playr has heightened its focus on Tier 2 and 3 markets to tap into non-metro  demand for IPL themed goods. The business has launched local promotional campaigns and collaborated with logistics providers to improve regional accessibility. By following a digital first approach, the business is reaching a wider array of customers, the Economic Times reported.

“We have a complete 360 degree experience for a fan from a coffee mug to Friday-wear polo to yoga mat to backpacks,” said Kukreja. “During the IPL season, while online sales see a significant uptick due to the convenience factor, our offline channels also experience substantial footfall, indicating a balanced preference among consumers.”

Playr has reported sustained revenue growth across Indian regions and is open to external investments and strategic partnerships to enable it to amp up its expansion plans. The business has also embraced the fast growing quick commerce market for growth.
