After seeing a drop on Tuesday, Chhaava stabilised on Wednesday as the collections went up and Rs. 6.19 crores more came in. The good part is that the collections have gone over the Rs. 6 crores mark because that was required for the film to keep collecting in a good zone right till the close of the week.
Tuesday drop had come primarily due to a key cricket match and hence it was expected that Wednesday would go up. This is what happened too and now today also the numbers would be in the same range. What works for Chhaava is that this Friday there is no new release whatsoever and only re-releases are arriving. There are close to half a dozen of those but none is the kind that would take the box office by storm. Most are arriving in one or two shows only at select screens which means Chhaava would have a field day for yet another week.
The film has now reached Rs. 490.89 crores and if not by tomorrow then at least day after tomorrow it will enter Rs. 500 Crore Club. The jump on Saturday would be, in fact, huge again since Sunday would end up seeing a dip due to India reaching the finals of the ICC Champions Trophy. In a way, the advantage that the film had seen due to a couple of partial holidays in between has been balanced out by a little extent at least due to ODI matches keeping people home on some key days. Still, the film has already covered a huge distance already and emerged as a blockbuster.
