Chhaava Box Office: Vicky Kaushal starrer surpasses Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2, Rajkummar Rao’s Stree 2, and Baahubali 2; emerges as highest third weekend grosser :Bollywood Box Office

Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava has achieved yet another historic milestone at the box office. After storming past multiple records in its first and second weeks, the Laxman Utrekar directorial has now set a new benchmark by becoming the highest-grossing film in its third weekend. What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that such impressive numbers are usually seen in the opening weekends of films, when audience curiosity and promotional buzz are at their peak. However, Chhaava has defied the norm by sustaining exceptional momentum deep into its run. Since its release on Valentine’s Day, February 14, Chhaava has been on an extraordinary run, particularly in Maharashtra, where its historical and cultural significance has resonated deeply with the audience. The film crossed the Rs. 100 crore mark in its opening weekend, raced past Rs. 200 crore in its first week, and breached the Rs. 300 crore milestone by the end of its second weekend. Now, as its third weekend draws to a close, Chhaava is on the brink of crossing Rs. 500 crore, proving its status as a box office phenomenon.

In its third weekend alone, Chhaava collected a massive Rs. 60.10 crore, edging past Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 (Hindi), which earned Rs. 60 crore, to claim the top spot for the highest third-weekend collections. The difference may seem marginal, but the fact that Chhaava has outperformed a film with an already immense fan following speaks volumes about its box office strength. Further down the list, Chhaava also surpassed Stree 2, which had a solid run but managed Rs. 48.75 crore in its third weekend— Rs.11.35 crore less than Chhaava. Even the mammoth Baahubali 2 (Hindi), one of the biggest cinematic successes in Indian history, registered Rs. 42.55 crore in its third weekend, falling Rs. 17.55 crore short of Chhaava.

Beyond these films, Chhaava has left behind several other blockbusters by a significant margin. Gadar 2, which had a phenomenal box office run, could only muster Rs. 36.95 crore in its third weekend, trailing Chhaava by Rs. 23.15 crore. Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, despite its intense action-packed narrative and strong hold, managed Rs. 34.95 crore, which is Rs. 25.15 crore less than Chhaava. Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, another juggernaut, followed closely behind with Rs. 34.81 crore, while Aamir Khan’s Dangal, a historic success in its own right, registered Rs. 31.79 crore—nearly half of Chhaava’s third-weekend earnings. Even Pathaan, one of Bollywood’s biggest hits in recent years, had a third-weekend collection of Rs. 30.15 crore, a staggering Rs. 29.95 crore short of Chhaava. Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior, which also depicted a Maratha warrior, secured Rs. 27.48 crore, nearly Rs. 32.62 crore lower than Chhaava, further proving the unparalleled dominance of Vicky Kaushal’s latest film.

Chhaava’s ability to hold such an impressive grip at the box office this late into its theatrical run demonstrates not just its commercial appeal but also its cultural and emotional impact. The film’s exceptional storytelling, combined with Vicky Kaushal’s powerful performance, has ensured its success even in its third weekend, an achievement that only a handful of films have managed. With its current momentum, Chhaava is well on its way to setting even bigger records in the weeks ahead, as it inches closer to the Rs. 500 crore mark.
