E-commerce giant Flipkart has decided to close down its e-commerce enabler arm ANS Commerce. The Walmart owned business is now working on transitioning the laid off ANS Commerce workforce.

“After careful consideration, ANS Commerce, a full-stack e-commerce enabler that was acquired by Flipkart in 2022, has decided to close its operations,” said Flipkart, confirming the development to the Press Trust of India. “As we wind down operations, we stay committed to ensuring a smooth transition for all stakeholders, including employees and customers.”
At the end of the 2022 financial year, ANS Commerce counted approximately 600 employees but the total number of employees which will be affected by the business’ closure was not disclosed by Flipkart in its statement. “To minimise the impact on employees during this transition, we plan to offer internal opportunities at Flipkart, outplacement services, and severance packages,” said the business.
ANS Commerce began operations in 2017 and was later acquired by Flipkart in 2022. The business specialised in providing e-commerce operational support ranging from warehousing to marketing to businesses looking to retail their products online.
