Oscars 2025: Sonu Sood congratulates “brother” Adrien Brody for bagging second Academy Award

Celebrating Brody’s win, Indian actor-producer Sonu Sood took to social media to share his excitement. Posting a picture with the Oscar winner, Sood wrote, “Congratulations my brother @adrienbrody on your second Oscar. Many more on your way.”

Adrien Brody’s Powerful Acceptance Speech

During his acceptance speech, Brody delivered a poignant message on racism, antisemitism, and the enduring effects of war. “I’m here once again to represent the lingering traumas and the repercussions of war, and systematic oppression and of antisemitism and racism and of othering,” he said.

Speaking of the need for unity and awareness, he added, “I believe that I pray for a healthier and a happier and a more inclusive world, and I believe if the past can teach us anything, it’s a reminder to not let hate go unchecked.”

A Moment of Gratitude and Personal Dedication

Brody began his speech by reflecting on the fragile nature of an acting career. “It looks very glamorous and in certain moments it is, but the one thing that I’ve gained, having the privilege to come back here is to have some perspective: No matter where you are in your career, no matter what you’ve accomplished, it can all go away. I think what makes this most special is the awareness, and the gratitude, that I have to still do the work that I love,” he said.

The Oscar winner also dedicated the award to his partner, Georgina Chapman. “I share this with my amazing partner, Georgina, who’s not only reinvigorated my own self-worth but my sense of value and my values. And her beautiful children Dash and India. I know this has been a roller coaster, but thank you for accepting me into your life,” he expressed.

Directed by Brady Corbet, The Brutalist tells the compelling story of a Hungarian-Jewish Holocaust survivor who immigrates to the United States. Alongside Brody, the film boasts a stellar ensemble cast featuring Felicity Jones, Guy Pearce, Joe Alwyn, Raffey Cassidy, Stacy Martin, and Emma Laird.
